As the founder of Hounds in the Hub, Mary’s entire world revolves around dogs and she couldn’t be any more dedicated to her pack’s health and happiness. Mary is an expert in dog behavior and she has a true passion for working with dogs with behavioral issues, particularly helping to rehabilitate rescue dogs who struggle from anxiety and fear-based aggression. Mary is a firm believer in the old adage that there are no bad dogs— only bad people. As a Pitbull advocate, Mary couldn’t be any more proud to name her adorable (and super well socialized!) Blue Nose Pitbull Coney as the CEO of her company.
Before starting Hounds in the Hub, Mary worked as a paralegal and office manager for a few different law firms in Boston, including Bowditch & Dewey and WilmerHale. Mary is originally from the Lakes Region of New Hampshire where she grew up on a dirt road with lots of family pets. It was her upbringing in the woods of New Hampshire that has helped to shape her belief that while structured leash walks are very important, dogs also deserve the opportunity to run wild and free. Mary went to high school in Andover, MA, and later attended Wellesley College, where she graduated cum laude with degrees in English and biology.
When Mary isn’t covered in dog hair and slobber you can find her planning her next trip (she loves to travel), taking pictures (she loves photography), or working on writing her memoir, “Picking up Shit.”
